Big Weekend Ahead

Not too much has been going on around the Clark household.  Will was 8 weeks old Monday and will be 2 months old tomorrow.  I can't believe it.  He had his first babysitter last Saturday night and did great.  Pat and I were able to go to an Allman Brothers concert and leave Will with a girl that lives down the street.  He also slept through the night Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdsay.  Last night he was up once for about ten minutes then back to dream land he went.  As the post says, Will has a big weekend ahead.  My  mom is the oldest of 7 and has three sisters who live out of state.  They are all coming this weekend to visit Will.  He is also going to spend the night with my mom and dad on Saturday night for the first time.  Let's hope he sleeps for them.  They might not want to keep him again :)!  Look for lots of updates next week.......

Here are some pictures from the last week and a half.

Bath Time

Story Time with Aunt Becky.  As you can see from the picture, Will was reading up on the ABC's of Auburn.  If you know us, you know that Pat and I tend to disagree on our choice of football teams.  I am a pround AU graduate and he is a proud UA graduate.  I'm trying everything I can think of to get Will to be an Auburn Tiger!  You can never be too young to learn about football.  The ABC's of Auburn book was given to Will by one of my great friends, Zach, and his wife Kim.  The inscription says:  "To Baby Clark:  I hope you have as many great Auburn memories as me and your mom.  War Eagle!"  I hope that too.......

Some Pictures

My friend, Brooke, came over the other day to take some pictures of Will with her fancy camera. She is a self taught photographer who takes great pictures for fun.  She should look into becoming a professional.
LoveWill's blue eyes...this pic really captured them!

We got out the backpack the other day to see how Will liked it.  We tried this when he was a little younger and he hated it.  Sunday, he seemed to enjoy himself and even took a little nap.

On a side note, Will is 7 weeks old now!  I can't believe it.  Time has flown by.  He rolled from his front to his back on Saturday and then again on Monday.  He also rolled one day last week, but I thought it was a fluke...guess I was wrong.  He's holding his head up fairly well.  We've put him in his Bumbo seat for practice.  I'll have to get some pictures of that.

6 Weeks and Growing

Will was 6 weeks old yesterday.  That is about all that is going on around here.  Our days are pretty much the same.  Mom usually keeps him a few hours each week so I can go to the gym or run errands (although I do drag Will around town with me most of the time).  He's usually very good and sleeps while we are out.  I'm sure that will change soon.  He's starting to be awake more and more.  On a positive note, Will is starting to wake up, consistently, one time a night, usually around 4 (last night it was 4:30) and wakes up for the day around 7:30ish.  I am loving that!  I usually try to get to bed by 10 so I can get 6 good hours of sleep in before he wakes up.  I see sleeping through the night in our future.  Yay!    Here's Will at 6 weeks, along with Pat and me.  Who does he look like????  I'm putting my money on Pat, although he does have my coloring, which is a shame because it takes a lot for me to get a tan.  Oh Well!

He only takes a pacifier at night, when he is waiting to be fed before bed.  He'll hold on to it for about an hour.... all other times, he spits it out.

Easter Time

Pat and I are extremely lucky to attend the church I grew up in.  I am so glad that Will will be able to grow up in that church watching his parents and grandparents worship each Sunday.  I pray that he will have the same great experiences I had with the youth group there and that he has a heart to serve those in need.

This Easter Sunday was extra special.  Along with my parents, my sister and Pat's sister attended services.  We took up the entire pew. I was so glad Will was able to spend his first Easter with each of these special people.   We always spend holidays with family and this occasion was no exception.  My mom grew up in Cullman, AL (just 45 minutes down the interstate) and her brothers, cousins, aunt, and uncle still live there today.  After church, we headed to Smith Lake to spend Easter at my Aunt Susan's and Unlce Mike's house.   There was a huge crowd and Will was the star of the show.  He was able to meet several of his great aunts and uncles and a great great aunt and uncle.  He also met two of my cousins and some of my mom's cousins.  What a day he had!  After stuffing our faces with excellent food (there is always a spread), we were ready to hunt Easter eggs.  I can't wait for next Easter when Will can join in the fun.

The day was gorgeous.  We couldn't have asked for better weather!  Here are some pictures from the day.

On a side note,Will hasn't been feeling well the last few days so we went to the doctor this morning. The doctor thinks he just has a bug, but he weighed him.  Will weighed in at a whopping 10lbs 11oz.....I told ya he was big.

Look How I've Changed!!!

For those of you keeping up, Will is one month old TODAY!  I can not believe that he has been with us a month.  It's hard to remember what it was like without him.  I feel like he's always been part of our family.  We are truly blessed.  I love being a mother and spending every minute I can with Will.  Words can not describe how great it is.  Things have changed a lot in the past month.  I definitely have gotten less sleep, but it hasn't been too bad.  I have less free time, but am so lucky to have parents close by that want to spend alot of their time with Will too....Pat and I have been able to get out a few times because they are so willing to help!  Again, we are truly blessed.

Some things Will has done the first month:

1.  Started out waking up twice a night....is working his way down to only once.  It has happened twice now and I think I have figured out how to make it happen again and again.
2.  Is able to hold his head up for a few seconds without support.
3.  Is sleeping in his own bed!  This was a big step for me. He doesn't care.  HA!
4.  Weighs at least 10 lbs.  I weighed him last week at my parents house and this is how much he weighed.  He is well fed.  :)  He weighed 8lbs 10oz. at his two week appt.
5. Is basically out of new born clothes and is on to 3 months.  There are a few things he can still wear, but  I think he is going to take after his daddy and be a BIG BOY!
6.  Has the prettiest blue eyes and blond hair (if you look at it in the light, you can see a few red tints)
7.  Is basically a happy little boy, who is a blessing to all he meets.

                                                             Will, one month!

Will, 3 days....I'd say he's changed alot.

Easter Eggs

On Thursdsay, Mom came over to dye egss with Will and I.  Will didn't really care too much about dying the eggs and spent the morning on his activity mat.  Mom and I had fun, though.  I haven't dyed eggs in years and Will loves to see his Grandma...just about as much as she loves to see him.

Will and the eggs I dyed for him!  He looks thrilled.....

Finished Product!

Just another one of Will because I think it is precious!
