BRUISER

So....Will is a boy, a rough boy, who is prone to hit his head on a regular basis.  In fact, in the past three months he has nailed his head, square in the forehead, three times.  The first two times were far enough apart that the bruise wasn't terrible, but still noticable.  The third time happened about 3-4 weeks ago and was BAD!

This was Monday......

.
I was in Tuscaloosa for a few days for a conference and Pat sent me this picture of Will.  You can see the remnants of bruise 2 on his forehead.  He's still got a little goose egg, but getting better.

Well, sometime between Tuesday night and Friday morning his head went from look like the above picture to looking like this........

This picture was taken in the waiting room of the doctor's office on Friday morning.  I just so happened to be on fall break so I was able to run Will in early to let the doc get a look at it.  I was a nervous wreck because I didn't know how Will got this bruise on his head.  The first two times have happened at school and this third time there was no school report.  I thought it was just reappearing without re-injury......so to the doctor we went!

The doctor insisted that he probably hit it again before it had healed and that I just missed it, but he ordered blood work just in case.  So, off to the Medical Mall we went to get blood taken.   As you can imagine, this was not the best time of Will's life.  He screamed bloody murder and it took three of us to hold him down so the blood could be drawn!  Poor guy!  Didn't have time to grab a snap shot of that experience.  Thankfully the doc called back later that day with good news, nothing out of the ordinary with the blood work and Will more than likely just re-injured the area before it healed completely.

I'm glad I went to the doctor though, because by Sunday morning we were looking like this.........

Followed a few days later with some black eyes.  AWESOME!

It took almost two and a half weeks for that bruise and those black eyes to heal.  Apparently Will needs a helmet!

32 weeks

I'm happy to report that my last appointment only lasted me 50 minutes as opposed to the 2 hours I waited at 30 weeks!  All looks good with baby #2.  I gained 3 lbs., putting my total weight gain at 22 lbs.  The baby's HR was 140.   This baby is still moving all the time and I am getting bigger and bigger as the days go by.  I still feel fairly good, but tired all the time!  I'm exercising daily and trying to keep my weight gain under or around 30 lbs. I seem to remember that I started to swell around 33 weeks with Will.  So far, with this baby, I haven't seen any swelling and I hope it stays that way.  I looked so swollen by delivery day with Will!  That's about all to report with this baby!  I go back next week for my 34 week appointment.  I've got lots to post about Will, but can't seem to find the time to sit and blog about it!  I'll try to catch up tomorrow, because Saturday I'm headed to Auburn for the game!  WAR EAGLE!

30 Weeks

I went back to the doctor at 30 weeks and things are looking good!  I had gained 4 lbs and the baby's heart rate was 153.  Other than waiting for TWO hours to see the doctor, the trip was uneventful.  I go back Thursday for my 32 week appointment.  I keep telling myself that I will take a belly shot before I have this baby.....maybe this week :)

Pat and I are busy getting ready for this little one.  Will has moved on to his big boy room and is now sleeping in a double bed.  He calls the nursery "the baby's room."  We have gotten the swing and bouncy seat back out.  When we ask Will who they are for he says the "baby."  I'm planning on actually putting a baby doll in them this weekend to further prepare him.

I am so worried that Will is going to fall apart when this kid arrives.  I know it's not going to be easy, but I'm praying that God will watch over us and help us through it.  I know he will!

Nothing else to report.  We went to the pumpkin patch this past weekend with our sweet friends (I will post some pictures later this week).  Will is almost 20 months old and is growing and changing daily.  He got a terrible bruise/black eyes last week.  I've got some great pictures of those that I will also post.   Until then, I hope everyone is doing great and enjoying life just as much as I am!

28 Weeks and 4D

I went in a few weeks ago for my gestational diabetes test and 4D Ultra Sound.  Let's just say, neither went as planned. First, I failed my easy finger prick test....my sugar was about 40 points to high.   Secondly, baby 2 did not cooperate with the $125 Ultra Sound!  We got a few shots, but nothing great.  I got Will's out to see if we could compare the two, but really Will's are sooooo much better than this new baby's.  He or she just wasn't having it. Oh well, we've waited this long, we can wait a while longer.

Some Stats from 28 weeks....

  • The baby was head down
  • Heart Rate was 146
  • I only gained 1 lb!!!!!  That's only 15 total.
  • I measured exactly 28 weeks
I'm still feeling great.  I'm exercising daily and hope that I can keep it up until delivery.  This baby moves ALL THE TIME!  There is rarely a quiet moment in my belly.   I love to feel the little one, but some peace would be nice too (preferably between 9 pm and 5 am)...HA!
