The End.....

Most of you know that Pat has proudly served our country for 6 and a half long years as a member of The United States Army.  We were apart most of our "dating" years, Pat away at some Army school and me in Birmingham.  We were apart for the entire year we were engaged, Pat in Iraq, me still in Birmingham.  We spent the entire first year of our marriage living in Columbus, GA because Pat was stationed there.  When his Active Duty time came to an end, he joined the National Guard (in the hopes that we would aviod another deployment) and moved home to Huntsville.  We've been apart one weekend every month since then.  Well, this weekend marked the end of our Army Career.  Pat served his last Drill this weekend, he turned in all of his Army issued gear, and said his goodbye to an Army that treated him well.  We are both thankful for the time he spent in the Army, but are so glad to be civilians now.  I have to admit.  It's hard for me to not think of him as a military man, but I am so glad to have him home for good!

We are so thankful that the Lord watched over Pat and kept him safe.  I am so proud of your service Pat!  Thank you!

How blessed is he who considers the helpless; The LORD will deliver him in a day of trouble. The LORD will protect him, and keep him alive, And he shall be called blessed upon the earth. Psalm 41:1-3

Such a Big Help....

Hopefully he'll still show this same interest in the dishwasher when he's old enough to actually help.....

Round Three...

That's right folks, it's snowing again in Huntsville, AL!  Started about 6 pm Wednesdsay night and ended around 10, leaving us two beautiful inches and some ice....LOVELY!  Today, Thursdsay, marks the 6th day of school we have missed this year for snow/ice and it's only Feb. 10.  I remember missing school on two diffferent occassions in MARCH when I was growing up.  Hope this is our last snow and we can get this school year over with and move on to summer!  I. AM. OVER. SNOW.  The picture above is the only one of the snow I took.  Most of it had already melted.

Even though I don't like missing school (only because we have to make it up), I love being home with Will.  We immediately set up a play date and had a morning of fun at our friend Alex's house.  Most of my friends here have boys and we love to get them all together every chance we get.

I'm just realizing that I didn't get one picture of the host!  Here's an old one...he sure is a cutie.

HAPPY SNOW DAY, Y'ALL!

A NICE Sunday Afternoon

Nice days are few and far between in Huntsville, AL.  We probably saw the sunshine 3 days in January, NO LIE!  It is always cloudy, rainy, and/or snowy.  MISERABLE!  We were so excited to see that giant ball in the sky Sunday morning!  Pat got up asking me, "what is that bright ball out there" and I kept looking out the window thinking "what is he talking about???"  OH, he's talking about the SUN!

Mr. Sunshine,
We were so glad to see you!  Please come back soon.  One day was  not enough.
Love,
The Clarks

I CAN STAND UP!

Will has been working really hard to stand up by himself.  He finally got there Friday night (Feb. 4).  He's still working on standing for a long period of time (it's usually about 10 seconds and he's on his rear again).  He's also still working on standing up without having something to hold on to.  I know he'll get there soon.  Most people tell me I am crazy, but I am so ready for him to walk.  He's already fast and into everything so why not walk.  I'm ready.....

This particular time he only stood for a few seconds.

These next shots,  I took with my fancy, new camera with consecutive shooting........He was up for about 10 seconds...Yay Will!

It cracked me up how Will was using his hands to balance. The look on his face is priceless.  He was laughing the whole time.  He's gonna love walking!

11 Months

Where has the time gone!  Will was 11 months old Tuesday.  I can't beieve that we're only a few weeks away from the big ONE YEAR OLD!  I'm having a hard time processsing that and have found myself trying to slow time down!  It's not working, by the way.....

Will's Stats at 11 Months:
  • Weighs 22.8 lbs
  • Has three teeth (two on the top and one on the bottom)
  • Is really trying to stand on his own...Almost there
That's really the only "new" stuff Will is doing.  Everything else is about the same as 10 months.  I didn't see much of a change in him this month.  He is still babbling all the time.  Loves to play with water bottles, toilets....and really anything that he's not suppposed to play with.  He's fascinated with the plant leaves.  Our poor plants are really taking a beating.  Pat and I love to just sit and watch him.  He is such a joy and blessing.  We thank God everyday for allowing us to be his parents.

Good Morning Will, you're 11 months old today!

Will LOVES that Pumpkin.  Aunt Hilda gave it to him when we went to visit her in Charlotte in October.  He carries it with him everywhere and will scream if you try to take it from him.  He sleeps with and even sometimes eats with it.  So funny!

Still got his pumpkin....he wouldn't leave it in his crib.

Daddy and Will at Aunt Becky's.  Aunt Becky had us over to eat Tuesday night.  Yum, Yum!

Will and Pop!  Will loves him some Pop, but who doesn't!

Only a few more weeks until the first birthday!  I've already done some planning.  I've ordered Will's present, his cake, and his first birthday shirt.  I've still got to get the invitations for his party to send out and I need to figure out how I'm going to keep it together on the actual day!  I think I might have a come apart....Send some prayers my way...My baby will be a toddler soon!

A Saturday Morning with Friends

Two weeks ago, we headed downtown to the Early Works Children's Museum with some good friends.  Will wasn't feeling his best (those teeth were really getting to him) and spent most of the morning looking like this :

Poor little guy. I felt so bad dragging him out for some play time, but he did eventually feel better and seemed to enjoy himself. Here are some more pictures of our morning with our friends.

Grayson splashing in the water.

Luke, lovin some water!  Will still looks pitiful.

Luke is such a cheeser!  He smiles on cue and is precious.  Love him.  Luke and Will are almost exactly one year apart.

Peyton on the L and Brooks on the R.  Peyton is four days older than Will, but was born about 4 weeks early so he isn't quite as big as Will.  Brooks in in Will's class at school and is 2 months yonger.  They are both adorable!

Will found the train table.......he's happy now!
